It’s a buffet, so I’m definitely taking this with a huge grain of salt. While I do enjoy a good buffet from time to time, I don’t expect much from them. The food at King Buffet was okay, but didn’t stand apart from any of the other Chinese buffets in town. Something to note is that it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t that good either. There were a couple of really tasty items on the menu, like the stir-fry noodles and the jalapeno chicken. Those are just a couple of things that really came to mind. The buffet was pretty vast, and they had the seafood stuff that many of the buffets around here. Crawfish, crab, and a couple of other options. They also had the Mongolian grill, which I did not partake in, but they did have a lot of options for that side of the buffet as well.
I must admit, the place was really nice to be in. It really helps that it’s very new restaurant, so it hasn’t had time for the grim and dust to build up. The interior was very well decorated and came across as a chain place. Maybe they just hired some sort of interior decorator that had some really good ideas. The only real complaint I had was that the tables felt a little cramped, but it wasn’t terrible.
I went to the buffet twice and both times there was only one thing that I noticed was missing. The kitchen seems to be quick when it comes to keeping the buffet full. The hard part about judging a buffet as far as the timeliness goes, is that it’s the complete purpose of the buffet. You go to the buffet when you want some more, and you don’t have to wait for something.
Once again, this is pretty difficult to gauge considering there isn’t too much table service overall.
Let’s consider that most of this hinges primarily on whether or not the drinks stay filled during the meal. Considering my drink went empty a for a few minutes, I could honestly say that the service isn’t too bad. It’s nothing to write home about, but I can’t complain too much.
Alright, it’s a Chinese buffet. There are some high points, such as the cleanliness and the speed of the kitchen, but the food is pretty much similar to every other buffet in town. It’s a little pricey,
but the experience is pretty nice. The service could stand to be a little quicker, but that’ll like happen once they slow down a little. I’m going to go back one day to reevaluate it.
